About Los Cabos
Los Cabos is a heaven for deep sea fishing enthusiasts, divers, snorkelers, and golfers and a great place just to sit on a sun drenched beach and watch sea lions, pelicans and whales cavort in the glistening sea. Nature has carved numerous safe bays and coves along the area's miles of isolated sandy shoreline but remember that some of the area's beaches may be hazardous for swimming due to strong undertows and open surf. TIPS Checking-in : Check-in time is at 3.pm. but usually in Los Cabos you can get your room earlier than that but in any case do not waste your time, if your room is not available ask at the front desk where can you store your luggage and put on your bathing suit and rush to the swimming pool or take a stroll down the beach, start enjoying your vacation. Public Transportation :Public transportation in Los Cabos is almost non-existent so your chances are limited mostly to cabs. Please check with your concierge or bellman the rate to your specific destination before boarding the car. Water: We are sure you have been warned many times before not to drink the water in Mexico, but that is just a myth, in fact in Los Cabos all major hotels have purified water system Medical Care : There are several hospitals with English speaking staff and doctors in all disciplines available 24 hours daily. In some hotels there are doctors available within the property or on call. Money : Banks offer the best exchange rates if you have time to stand in line, otherwise you can go to any exchange bureau (Casa de cambio ) they usually give you an exchange rate slightly higher than the banks but are faster and easier. USA dollar, traveler's checks and major credit cards are widely accepted in Los Cabos. Telephone : The best options to make a long distance phone call to the U.S. is from a public telephone called TELMEX. You may also purchase a calling card where you see the sign "Tarjetas Ladatel". A $10 usd card will give you approximately 5-7 minutes to talk. Also there are several tobacco shops offering long distances service, both in Los Cabos and in San Jose. Look for a "Larga Distancia" (long distance) sign. Most hotels offers long distance service through their switchboards, however this method can be quite costly. Double-check the hotel the rate before making a phone call from your room. If someone needs to call you from the U.S. tell them to dial (011)(52)+ (624) + the 7 digit local phone number. |
